Silverman <br /> J. Campbell <br /> OBSERVERS: M. Williamson, Minute Man Newspaper <br /> R. Levy of TMMA <br /> Police Chief Corr and Captain Furdon reviewed police budget. Two main increase <br /> areas are: (1) Gasoline costs estimated up $3,000. <br /> (2) Cruiser costs of $7,000 (small Citations only giving about <br /> 23 mpg.) <br /> "If 5% increase made in budget, where would it hurt?" was asked by Chairman <br /> Dailey. Chief Coor answered, "Impossible to cut unless "cruiser time cut." <br /> Fifty-four men is authorized strength. <br /> Chief Bergeron of Fire Department reviewed Fire Department budget. <br /> (1) Ladder truck - 1960 vintage with 21,600 miles. Requesting <br /> replacement, Net cost $210,000 with old one traded. <br /> Rescue truck - 1969 vintage with 16,145 miles to be put <br /> in semi-retirement. <br /> (2) Plus $38,000 for air masks under a separate article. Present <br /> masks are 10 to 30 years old, of which we have 22. Would like <br /> to purchase 24 new ones. $38,000 includes about $16,000 for <br /> new compressor, $2,500 spare tanks (15) , $19,500 for masks (24) . <br /> * SEE NOTE BELOW: <br /> Question of charging by Fire Department to pump out cellars was raised. <br /> According to Fire Chief, Board of Selectmen turned down request a couple <br /> of years ago. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> 14) <br /> Richard M.
