Present: Geetha Padaki, Chair; Glen Basett; Linda Dixon; Cerise <br /> Jelalian; Gresh Lattimore; Sondra Lucente; Sandy Podgorski. (Absent: Steve Cole, Lorain <br /> Marquis, Julie Miller, Bill Mix.) Quorum: 6 Full Members. <br /> - Subcommittee (15): Yifang Gong, Mary Hutton, Aneesha Karody, Samita Mandelia, Sue <br /> Sterling. (Absent: Reeta Pandey, Ashley Rooney, Wayne Miller, Sam Zales.) 6 vacancies. <br /> 7:04 pm Meeting called to order by Geetha. <br /> Minutes of September 8, 2021, approved. <br /> Anessha Karody introduced herself to the Committee. <br /> Upcoming Veterans Day(November 11, 2021) <br /> 1. Veterans Car Parade (Glen): <br /> - Glen hosted a working group on September 29 to coordinate the details. <br /> - Same car route as last year: up Mass Ave from Community Center/ Marriott Rd, turn left at <br /> Minute Man statute, turn right into St Brigit's parking lot. Glen will coordinate with Lexington PD <br /> and provide pens to mark each car. Workers to arrive at Community Center at noon. Drive off <br /> at 12:45pm. Car drivers to register by October 22. <br /> - Gina Rada, Veterans Services Director, will purchase small car flags. 50 used last year; only 25 <br /> returned. <br /> - 8:30am: Football Team will post flags at the Obelisk. <br /> - LHS Band to play on Battle Green as cars drive by. <br /> 2. $10 Gift Cards to Veterans (Glen, Gina <br /> - Gina to help cull our Veterans Email List. <br /> - Glen will see that a blast email to all Veterans is sent, requesting confirmation of their local <br /> addresses (October 15th). He will also be involved in drafting the cover letter accompanying the <br /> $10 Dunkin Donuts gift card, which is in lieu of the usual Veterans Day Breakfast. These emails <br /> will also invite Veterans to join the Car Parade. <br /> - 25 gift cards remain from last year; about 128 new cards required. The Town will purchase these <br /> new cards. <br /> 3. High School Essay Contest (Sue) <br /> - Michael Egbert coordinates these Junior Yr essays. <br /> - Special goodie bags will be presented to the winner/s. <br /> 4. Multimedia High School Art Contest (Sue) <br /> - Sue is working with Art Teacher Alethea Roy and her assistants April Maloney and Deb Hankins <br /> at LHS. Minuteman Tech will also be invited to participate. <br /> - Lexington Art Walk (encouraging retailers to give window space to artists)will be invited to <br /> display these creations. The Community Center will be invited to display these creations. <br />
