RECEIVED <br /> Semiquincentennial Commission (Lex250) d 21 d 2 [�)e c, 10�' 5 ui °m <br /> June 23, 2021 Meeting Minutes <br /> TOWN CLERK <br /> LEXINGTON MA <br /> Pursuant to notice duly filed with the Town Clerk, the Semiquincentennial Commission <br /> (Lex250) convened in a meeting via Zoom video conference on June 23, 2021 at <br /> 4:02 pm as allowed by legislation (S.2475) extending the suspension of certain provisions of the <br /> Massachusetts Open Meeting Law. <br /> Present: Suzie Barry (Select Board Member), Steve Cole, Jr. (Community Representative), <br /> Steve Conners (Reenactment Community), Barry Cunha(Local Business Representative), Bebe <br /> Fallick(Tourism Committee Representative), Cerise Jalelian (Town Celebrations Committee <br /> Representative), Julie O'Leary (Civic Representative), Paul O'Shaughnessy (Historical <br /> Organization Representative), Mona Roy (Community Representative) and Jillian Tung (Music <br /> & Arts Representative). <br /> Welcome & Introductions: Ms. Barry welcomed all of the Commission members who in turn <br /> introduced themselves to the other Commission members. <br /> Review Commission Charge: Ms. Barry reviewed the charge to the Commission as voted on by <br /> the Select Board and indicated that a Chair for the Commission and someone to take minutes <br /> would need to be decided. For this meeting, Ms. Barry agreed to be responsible for the minutes. <br /> Discuss/determine best meeting day/time: The members determined that Wednesday <br /> afternoons at 4:00 pm looked to be the best meeting time at this point. The preference was to <br /> continue to meet remotely. <br /> 2025 Calendar review: Ms. Barry reviewed significant dates on the 2025 calendar surrounding <br /> the 2025 Patriots' Day weekend including: Patriots' Day: Monday, April 21, 2025; Easter: <br /> Sunday, April 20, 2025; Passover: April 12-20, 2025. She indicated that events for the 250th can <br /> be spread out over the year leading up to Patriots' Day 2025 and possibly extend for a year <br /> beyond as well. <br /> Review Federal, State, Local 2501h efforts to date: Ms. Barry reviewed the America 250 <br /> initiative at the Federal level, the Revolution 250 initiative at the State level and spoke briefly <br /> about the Battle Road area Towns small meetings with a representative from each Select Board. <br /> Ms. Barry also updated the Commission on State Senator Barrett's updated legislature to change <br /> the State level 250th Committee to include a representative from all of the Battle Road <br /> communities and not just the City of Boston. Ms. Barry also informed the Commission that the <br /> Select Board had recently sent a letter to the US Postal Service in support of a three stamp series <br /> for the 250th Anniversary and that the recently started Center Streetscape project and the Battle <br /> Green Streetscape project are both currently scheduled to be completed prior to April of 2025. <br />
