Town of Lexington <br /> Lexington Center Committee <br /> This July 8, 2021 meeting beginning about 8:30 am was held pursuant to Chapter 20 of <br /> the Acts of 2021 extending certain measures adopted during the state of emergency <br /> including an extension of the remote meeting provisions of Governor Baker's March 12, <br /> 2020 order. <br /> Center Committee Members present: Michael Boudett, Frederic Johnson, Howard <br /> Levin, Pamela Lyons, Innessa Manning, Jerold Michelson (Chair), Pamela Shadley <br /> Liaisons present: Doug Lucente, Select Board, Frank Smith, Capital Expenditures <br /> Committee, Sandhya Iyer, Economic Development Director, Casey Hagerty, Economic <br /> Development, John Livsey, Engineering, Sandra Shaw, Council on Aging, Dawn <br /> McKenna, Tourism, Janet Perry, Commission on Disability, Erin Sandler-Rathe, <br /> Chamber of Commerce, Joe Pato, Select Board (informally), Upasna Chhabra <br /> John Livsey gave the DPW/Streetscape update: Streetscape Project is now working on <br /> drainage and water work/sidewalk work beginning at easterly end near Cary Hall and <br /> Library and Santander Bank. The website continues to be updated and the interactive <br /> map is up and working. No mass tree clearing, trees will go out in stages. Discovery <br /> Day is likely to be on Columbus Day weekend. No full closure of Mass Ave is <br /> anticipated this season. <br /> The pop up that was in the Goodfeet space in December, 2019 is coming to the old <br /> Revolve space. There will be a Bubble Tea establishment in the Firefly Moon space. Ride <br /> Studio is not renewing its lease. A specialty store is going in here. <br /> Grain Mill Alley is on track. <br /> The new 20 mph speed limit signs have been installed. <br /> Sandhya discussed Pay By Phone as an alternative preferred by the Select Board to <br /> kiosks. There will be a pilot project in the parking lots beginning on August 1. Parking <br /> will be enforced beginning on August 1. Pam Shadley inquired about the duration of <br /> the parking passes. Jerry asked "is Pay by Phone a parking management system or <br /> parking payment system?" Jerry noted that the current meter system gives us a lot of <br /> statistical information. There was a lively discussion of the merits of pay by phone. <br /> Doug Lucente described the Select Board's thinking on this issue. <br />
