Town of Lexington <br /> Vision for Lexington Committee Meeting <br /> May 28,2021 <br /> Remote Meeting <br /> 7:45 a.m.—9:00 a.m. <br /> Members Present: Fernando Quezada, Dan Krupka, Margaret Coppe, Mark Manasas,Joe Pato, Bhumip <br /> Khasnabish, Samita Mandelia, Peter Lee,Weidong Wang, Rina Kodendera and Andrew Dixon <br /> Members Absent: Robert Peters, Daniel Joyner, Kathleen Lenihan and Alan Wrigley <br /> Guests: Candy McLaughlin and Jyotsna Kakullavarapu <br /> Professional Staff Present: Katharine Labrecque, Management Analyst <br /> The meeting was called to order: 7:47am <br /> The Remote Meeting Opening Script was read by the chair, Fernando Quezada. <br /> Minutes: <br /> • Minutes from the April 28, 2021 meeting were approved. <br /> Handouts/Documents Shared on Zoom Screen: <br /> • Townwide survey project timeline. <br /> Action Items Summary: <br /> • Katharine will send out a form requesting contact information from members and guests. <br /> Meeting Highlights: <br /> Acknowledgement of Select Board Revision of Committee Charter and Membership <br /> Joe commented that the Select Board approved the appointment of three new members: Daniel Joyner, <br /> Rina Kodendera and Weidong Wang. Fernando asked Joe, as a member of the Select Board, how he sees <br /> our charter changing going forward.Joe responded that he doesn't see the charter changing.Joe <br /> commented that he sees this body as a long-term strategic visioning group for the Select Board, whereas <br /> the board is focused on short-term and more operational issues.Joe continued when it comes to trends <br /> that affect the community, he perceives this group as looking at more social issues rather than physical <br /> issues that can be identified through the comprehensive plan process.Joe added that this body helps us <br /> answer questions such as how do changes in the community affect how we want to govern ourselves, <br /> how does this impact services, and how do we ensure that all voices are being heard. Margaret asked Joe <br /> how the new charter impacts quorum.Joe responded that we added a sentence that said the quorum <br /> threshold is established by the number of appointed individuals.Joe continued that until the newly <br /> appointed members file all their paperwork,the quorum will remain unchanged. However, once new <br /> members complete all the paperwork, quorum will increase to 8. <br /> 1 <br />
