The Center Committee and <br />the Grain Mill Alley Steering Committee are working to enhance the alley between 1775 <br />Massachusetts Avenue and 1761 Massachusetts Avenue. The temporary installation is as shown <br />in the packet of materials with the drawings dated May 26 1915, and has several components: <br />- Six planter barrels with standard plantings, <br />- Three round wire mesh gray outdoor tables, 3 square tables, 18 chairs, 2 umbrellas and bases. <br />- 12 foot x 12 foot plastic outdoor checkerboard game, Astroturf measuring 16 foot x 12 foot <br />(seating the checkboard), <br />- Four green plastic Ikea lounge chairs matching Astroturf. <br />- Playhouse Structure (outdoor modern design) 4 foot x 6 foot slanted roof sitting on 6 foot x 8 <br />foot Astroturf. <br />- Twenty -two hung Ikea brand solar powered lanterns green color, that are, they are strung on a <br />cord across the alley in a V shape. <br />The proposal requested the temporary installation to remain up for a three month period, from <br />the end of July to November 1, 2015. <br />The commission unanimously approved the installation of the planter barrels, checkerboard and <br />Astroturf, tables, wire mesh chairs, and umbrellas. <br />The commission unanimously voted that an approved installation should be removed <br />immediately after Columbus Day, 12 October 2015. <br />
