<br />Town of Lexington, Massachusetts <br />Greenways Corridor Committee <br />KO,CTEL:781-698-4580 <br />EITH HMARTHAIR <br />KB <br />EVIN REUNIG <br />A <br />DFAX:(781)863-9468 <br />LEXANDRA OHAN <br />ME <br />ARGARET NDERS <br />EE <br />ILEEN NTIN <br />DG <br />ONALD RANT <br />RH <br />OBERT AUSSLEIN <br />PK <br />AULNIGHT <br />MT <br />ICHAEL ABACZYNSKI <br />Whereas the ACROSS Lexington trail system was envisioned as a comprehensive system encompassing the entire <br />Lexington community, thereby requiring a logo that captures the spirit of Lexington, <br />Whereas the ACROSS Lexington logo and color scheme was created by committee process by the Greenways Corridor <br />Committee in 2011, <br />Whereas the logo and color scheme was reviewed and approved by numerous Town committees and boards including <br />approval and acceptance by the Board of Selectmen in 2011, <br />Whereas the logo and color scheme was reviewed and approved for installation in Arlington’s Great Meadows by the <br />Arlington Conservation Commission and Board of Selectmen in 2014, <br />Whereas this approved logo has been installed on some 17 miles of routes in Lexington to date, <br />Whereas logo signs have been purchased for installation on some 25 miles of additional routes planned throughout <br />Lexington, <br />Whereas marketing and branding of the ACROSS Lexington concept has been centered on the existing logo and color <br />scheme including the printing of some 12,000 color brochures to date, <br />Whereas the creation of the ACROSS Lexington logo was largely the effort of Rick Abrams, now deceased, a founding <br />member of the Greenways Corridor Committee and for whom the ACROSS Lexington system was renamed in memoriam <br />as the ACROSS Lexington: The Rick Abrams Memorial Trail Network, <br />Whereas it would be imprudent management on the part of the Greenways Corridor Committee of Town funds which <br />have paid for the present inventory of logo signs and their replacement to seek a change in the existing logo design and <br />color scheme, <br />Whereas it would be an imprudent request of meeting time on the part of the Greenways Corridor Committee of the many <br />boards and committees both in Lexington and Arlington required to consider a change to the existing logo and color <br />scheme, <br />Therefore by unanimous vote on the part of the Greenways Corridor Committee at its meeting on June 29, 2015, it was <br />resolved that there will be no reconsideration of either the existing logo or color scheme for ACROSS Lexington: The Rick <br />Abrams Memorial Trail Network. <br />1625 MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02420 <br />greenwaycc@lexingtonma.gov <br />
