<br />Commission on Disability <br />Meeting Minutes December 4, 2014 <br /> <br />Members Present: <br />Victoria Buckley, Chair; Fred Lonardo, Building Commissioner; Joe Pato, Chair, Board <br />of Selectmen; Sue Cusack, Nate Finch, Michael Martignetti, Julie Miller, Len Morse- <br />Fortier, Francine Stieglitz <br /> <br />Guest: <br />LiaisonHarry MacKay, Council on Aging; Shaun Grady, Lexington resident and <br /> <br />representative for the PhotoVoice Project <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Via Lago Restaurant Renovation <br />Presentation by Blaise Laporta of Bechtel Frank Erickson Architects about Via Lago to <br />discuss their petition to the Architectural Access Board (AAB) for a variance on the <br />variance as a hardship relief but would like to see the front door entrance on <br />Massachusetts Avenue addressed. They are presenting their case to the AAB on <br />th <br />December 15 and will be returning to share that discussion at our January meeting. <br /> <br />271 Lincoln Street <br />Presentation by Colin Smith regarding 271 Lincoln Street; they are looking to do some <br />building improvements including proposing a new ramped out terrace, which brings a <br />new level of accessibility to the building. They anticipate creating two new handicapped- <br />accessible bathrooms and doorways. effort to bring us the <br />plans to make the building accessible. <br /> <br />Brick ByLaw <br />A proposed warrant article was discussed to amend current bylaws to ensure that all <br />new public and school sidewalks be made with materials that ensure safe passage for <br />citizens. To advance a warrant article, we would need to make the request by <br />th <br />December 27 with 10 signatures. <br /> <br />th <br />The Council on Aging will be meeting January 7, Julie will go to present our concern <br />about sidewalk surfaces. <br /> <br />Sidewalk Condition Index <br />st <br />At the December 1 Selectmen meeting, John Livsey, Town Engineer, discussed an <br />inventory that is currently underway to assess the condition of our sidewalks. 400K is <br />the current maintenance budget; if increased to 600K, it would help to sustain current <br />conditions, and at 800K, it would help us to get ahead of current conditions and improve <br />the overall state of our sidewalk inventory. <br /> <br />Photovoice <br /> 1 <br /> <br />
