Town of Lexington
Commission on Disability
Victoria Buckley, Chair
August 8, 2014
Board of Selectmen
Lexington, MA 02421
RE: New building on Muzzey and Raymond
Dear Selectmen,
At the July10, 2014 meeting of the Commission on Disability, Todd
Cataldo, Builder and Property Manager, and John Farrington, Attorney, presented
their plans for a medical arts office building on the corner of Muzzey Street and
Raymond Street. The plans presented showed due consideration for all inside
building areas to be fully accessible. However, there is no room for on-site
parking, and this area has limited handicapped parking.
Given that with the new building there will be even more intense utilization
of medical services in this area, the Commission would like to request that the
Board of Selectmen implement the following increases in handicapped parking:
One HP-designated parking spot on Muzzey Street
o
One HP-designated parking spot on Raymond Street
o
At least two additional HP-designated spots in the municipal lot, one
o
of which should be van accessible
The Commission feels that the proposed increase in parking spots should be
considered when reviewing the plans for the new building.
Sincerely,
Victoria Buckley
Cc: Traffic Advisory Committee, Fred Lonardo, Linda Vine, John Farrington, Todd Cataldo
1625 MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE • LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02420
