Specifically
the entrance from the parking lot into the building is via two heavy entrance doors.
The citizen that complained to the Commission said that she is not disabled yet still
struggles with the doors. The woman also told us that she had received no
response to her letter addressed to the property manager.
The heavy doors are next to the handicapped parking, yet they are not able to
be opened by most people needing those spaces. Easy and safe access should be a
right for everyone, especially in a medical building.
We would like to see you put in automatic door openers so that everyone
seeking to use health care services in the building can enter and exit safely. Please
let us know what you can do to remedy this. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Victoria Buckley
Chair, Commission on Disability
Cell phone 617-997-5472
Cc:
Robert Connelly, 31 Girard Road, Winchester, MA 01890
Lisa Arbesfeld, MD, 57 Bedford Street, Suite 201, Lexington, MA 02421
Marjorie Travis, 185 Grant Street, Lexington, MA 02420
Linda Vine, Deputy Town Manager and ADA Coordinator, Town of
Lexington, 1625 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, MA 02420
1625 MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE • LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02420
