Town has spoken of June funding, but Tourism operations need
a plan by April. Items uniquely Lexington, such as the Bicentennial
lissa have the time to do this project? Do we need a retail
consultant?
2) Design
Discussed the draft memo to the Board of Selectmen of use of design funds for the visitors center,
asking for approval of the Design Funds appropriated at the 2014 Annual Town Meeting, reviewed the
Program and Goals for the Visitors Center. Research and best practices have been utilized and the
memo will be finalized and sent to the Selectmen.
3) FY2016 Program Improvement Request for Organizational Structure
Front page article of 10/16/14 Minuteman is a concern as it contains some undocumented information.
Kerry Brandin, Dawn McKenna, Melisa Tintacolis, and Jeanette Rebecchi began discussions regarding a
two-year transition plan from the Tourism Committee managing day-to-day operations, to the staff
doing so. We
included level services, and two Program Improvement Requests, both part-time positions, one to add
clerk hours to take minutes, and the other to provide a weekly delivery service for the Lexington Visitors
Guide to Lexington businesses. We also put in a placeholder to begin the transition.
