The meeting convened at 7:04PM <br /> Historical Commission Members in Attendance: <br /> Marilyn Fenollosa, Chair, David Kelland, Wendall Kalsow, Diane Pursley and Susan Bennett <br /> AGENDA ITEM #1 (7:07 PM) <br /> Continued hearing regarding the full building demolition at 19 Bertwell Road <br /> APPLICANT (S) PRESENT: <br /> Applicant Keith Xu, Homeowner <br /> ABUTTER(S) PRESENT: <br /> Susan Halliday, 18 Bertwell Road <br /> DOCUMENT(S): <br /> Photos of the structure <br /> Timeline of work done to the home <br /> Structural Engineer Repot <br /> SUMMARY: <br /> Keith Xu is the homeowner of 19 Bertwell Road. The home is in poor condition and Mr. Xu <br /> would like to demolish the house. The basement has mold due to moisture. The first and second <br /> floor are uneven and the roof is shallow causing deterioration of many rafters. Mr. Xu had a <br /> tenant living in the home but moved out due to mold issues and allergies. <br /> HC COMMENTS: <br /> Mr. Kalsow said most of these issues can be fixed. The home can be saved with repairs. Mr. <br /> Kelland said a repot regarding the condition on the home does not fit the criteria we need in <br /> order to approve demolition. The Commission agreed with Mr. Kalsow and Mr. Kelland. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENTS: <br /> Susan Halliday of 18 Bertwell Road has lived in the neighborhood for 34 years and is sad to see <br /> the home go. Ms. Halliday also expressed concerns regarding the noise when the new home is <br /> built. <br />
