<br />PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE <br />HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION <br />Minutes of Thursday, August 7, 2014, <br />Selectman’s Meeting Room, Lexington Town Offices, 1625 Massachusetts Avenue <br /> at 7:00PM <br />Commissioners present: Lynn Hopkins, Paul Ross and Robert Warshawer <br />Associate Commissioners: Marilyn Fenollosa, B. McCarthy <br />Department Clerk: Linda Rainville <br />7:00 PM <br />49 Follen Road <br />: Kelley Donahue presented plans to replace 25 aluminum windows with vinyl/wood composite windows <br />Vote: 3 in favor, 2 opposed <br />2015C-01 <br />7:10 PM <br />905 Massachusetts Avenue <br />: Michael Kraley and Carl Oldenburg showed the Commission plans for the vestibule on the <br />side entry door. They presented plans for the entrance way to the apartment. The landing stairs will be granite. <br />Alterations to the garage included replacing the fake hayloft door with a window (matching the window on the side). The <br />garage is presently a 2 car garage and will be expanded to a three car garage (third bay will be pushed back). The brick <br />patio will be expanded. They will install slate chimney caps and copper gutters. <br />All in Favor <br />2015C-02 <br />7:15 PM <br />11 Bloomfield Street <br />: John Sterman showed the Commission plans for a deep energy retrofit. This project will include: <br />Installing solar panels (35 sun power black panels). Replacing windows with wood windows (double glazed). The third <br />floor will have two egress compliant casement windows installed. Replacing the front door with a six panel wood door. <br />The Dutch Colonial design will be changed to Colonial <br />All in Favor <br />2015C-03 <br />7:25 PM <br />2101 Massachusetts Avenue <br />: Mariellen Rodman, showed plans to replace a basement window with a simulated divided <br />light (3 wide/2 high) Awning/wood window, painted white to match other windows. Replacement of the garage door <br />awning will be a copper awning with supports to match what is existing. The stucco portion of the siding will be replaced <br />with stone veneer (Boston Blend and Colonial Blend). The stairs will be rebuilt. A Rod Iron Railing (painted black) will <br />be installed on the stairway. <br />The replacement windows and the stonework were approved. She will come back with more information regarding the <br />stairs and the garage awning. <br />All in Favor <br />2015C-04 <br />7:30 PM <br />1656 Massachusetts Avenue <br />: Kristin Smith asked the Commission to approve a blade sign to be mounted on the railing. <br />The sign would be Ivory with black letters. She would like the Blade sign to be placed on the railing of the stairway. The <br />Commission asked her to come back with pictures of a “mock” sign. <br />Continued to next meeting <br />7:40 PM <br />40 Hancock Street <br />: Jane Williamson,exterior architectural changes in the Hancock Clarke District Canceled by <br />homeowner <br /> <br />
