<br />October 3, 2013 <br />PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE <br />HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION <br />Minutes of Thursday, February 6, 2014, Selectmen Meeting Room, Town Hall Building at 7:00PM <br />Commissioners present: Joseph Welch, Chairman, Lynn Hopkins, Robert Warshawer, Paul Ross, Daniel <br />Griffin <br />Associate Commissioners: Marilyn Fenollosa, Barbara Feldman, Britta McCarthy, Jon Wardwell <br />Department Clerk: Linda Rainville <br />FORMAL HEARINGS <br />881 Massachusetts Avenue: <br />Greg Antonoli, from Out of the Woods presented plans to convert the <br />second floor of the detached garage structure to a guest suite. There is not change to the footprint. The <br />garage door will have 6 rectangle panels (Design 3) – no windows. The entry door will be changed. The <br />casement window and exterior stairway will be removed. A shed dormer will be added to the back of the <br />building. <br />All in favor of the changes <br />Hastings Park Gazebo: <br />Colin Smith presented the improvement plan for the gazebo. They will upgrade <br />the electrical work. The grading will be modified and the handicapped access brought up to date. The <br />will rework the railing (top and bottom rails). A new light will be installed over the landing. They will <br />put in a brick landing and gravel path. <br />All in favor of the changes <br />1605 Massachusetts Avenue: <br /> Nancy Shepard and Don Mills presented extensive plans for the <br />renovations to be done at Cary Hall. A slide show was presented with the planned changes. The <br />renovations will improve accessibility, replace aging building systems and make the hall more usable. <br />Some of the changes include: front entrance ramp will be changed using existing brick (not wire cut <br />brick); parking changes; utility changes in the back of the building; masonry repairs; HVAC system <br />updating. <br />CONTINUED HEARINGS <br />927 Massachusetts Avenue: <br />Did not appear <br />19 Hancock Street: <br />Doug Wilson brought in plans to enclose the carport. The garage is located on the <br />back of his property. He will use wood frame fixed windows, a painted steel garage door. He will come <br />back to a future meeting with his choice of windows and siding and a two-scale elevation drawing. <br />1984 Massachusetts Avenue: <br /> Ms. Kluchman presented a sample of the red cedar shingles she will use <br />on the barn. The shingles will be left natural. <br />All in favor of the changes <br />INFORMAL HEARINGS <br />1656 Massachusetts Avenue: <br />Colin Smith and Ken Murphy presented plans to replace the lift. There <br />will be no power changes. It will be an Eagle Elevator. Will come back for a Formal Hearing in March. <br />21/21A Muzzey Road: <br />Todd Cataldo and Sally DeGan spoke to the Commission regarding demolishing <br />both buildings on this lot. Zoning allows residential on the second floor and commercial on the first <br />floor. The Commission is open to hear plans of what could be built on the lot. <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br />Minutes approved as written <br />
