LINCOLN PARK SUB - COMMITTEE MINUTES
January 7, 2014 at 7:30 pm
Committee members present — David Williams, Chairman, Brian Kelley, Lynne Wilson, Bob Pressman,
Cindy Kuechle, Joanne Shorter, Nell Walker
Others present — Wendy Rudner, Hank Manz
The Chairman called the meeting together at 7:30. He introduced new member, Joanne Shorter. She
told the group that she had been cross- country skiing the past weekend at the park. The Committee
Introduced themselves, and there was a discussion of where the responsibility lies for the Fitness Path,
bike path and fields.
The minutes of October 2, 2013, and November 19, 2013, were accepted as written.
Bathroom facility — Brian Kelley updated the group on the financial situation for the construction and
presented a balance sheet. He is very optimistic that we will make our budget. There is $18,758.55 left
at this time. Still to be paid are the hardscape, landscape, signs and irrigation costs. He said that the
Lions Club has been extremely helpful on this project, and it couldn't have been done without them.
Doug Lucente of the Lions Club has kept very good records of all donations, etc. He said that volunteer
(and soccer mom) Christine Edmonds, in a last push for donations, had raised about $3,000 which was
included in the $18,000. There was some discussion about a formal opening and inviting all donors.
Brian and a member of the Lions Club will be working on a plaque. David plans to attend the Recreation
Meeting on January 15. Brian mentioned that he had some people asking about lights on the fields.
David said that Town Meeting had said "no lights" when the turf went in.
Financial review— David presented a sheet showing the 2013 financials. There was a discussion about
the costs shown, all of which were maintenance. Brian would like to see a Lincoln Park website so that
donations could be made online to the path. Cindy believes that publicity is needed to explain how to
donate. There was considerable discussion about how to set this up but no decisions were made.
Granite forest —This was briefly discussed but the Committee will discuss it again when Wes Wirth is at
a meeting.
Cindy asked what are the priorities for the Committee concerning the park. Maintenance is the first
priority with improvements following.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:25.
Respectfully submitted,
._:
Lynne Wilson
