Town Celebrations Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> April 28, 2021 <br /> Virtual Meeting <br /> Members Present <br /> June Baer, Chair; Glen Bassett, Suzanne Caton, Linda Dixon, Yifang Gong, Vivek Gupta, Mary <br /> Hutton, Cerise Jalelian, Gresh Lattimore, Sondra Lucente, Lorain Marquis, Julie Miller, Bill <br /> Mix, Geetha Padaki, Sandy Podgorski, Ashley Rooney, Sue Stering <br /> Members Not Present <br /> Steve Cole, Wei Ding, Aneesha Karody, Samita Mandelia, Wayne Miller, Rita Pandey, John <br /> Wu, Sam Zales, <br /> Guest: Gina Rada <br /> Business: <br /> • June convened the meeting at 7:06 pm and read the Town notice regarding the conduct of <br /> public virtual meetings. <br /> • The committee approved the minutes of April 15, 2021. <br /> • June noted that Sunday, June 13, is Race Amity Day and that the Lexington Human <br /> Rights Committee has reached out to the TCC. <br /> Patriots Day, April 19, 2021 <br /> Door Decorating Program <br /> • Geetha Padaki showed pictures of the decorated doors and winners to the committee. <br /> • The committee discussed lessons learned from this year's program and decided that in the <br /> future: <br /> o A longer registration period should be used <br /> o A follow-up reminder should be given to registrants <br /> o The program should be held closer to Patriots Day <br /> Miles and Smiles Program <br /> • There were 46 Smiles and 6 Miles participants in the program. <br /> • The sub-committee decided that all participants should receive gift certificates, based on <br /> the assumption that $1000 was available for prizes. <br /> • There was a discussion of how the gift certificates should be distributed and it was <br /> decided that they should be mailed out. <br /> Patriots Day Parade <br /> • June reported that much positive feedback was received on the parade, which lasted 1 �/z <br /> hours on Lex Media. <br /> Memorial Day 2021 <br /> • The following activities have been proposed: <br /> o Placing of wreaths <br /> o Unveiling the WWII plaque at Cary Hall <br /> o Virtual tour of Civil Was graves in Monroe Cemetery <br />
