<br />TOWN OF LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS <br />CONSERVATION COMMISSION <br />MINUTES <br />Tuesday, July 30, 2013 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />Parker Room, Town Office Building <br />1625 Massachusetts Avenue <br /> <br /> <br />Chair Joyce Miller opened the meeting at 7:33 pm in the Parker Room of the Town <br />Office Building. <br /> <br />Commissioners Present: Joyce Miller, Stew Kennedy, Jane Warren, and Duke Bitsko <br /> <br />Commissioners Absent: Phil Hamilton, David Langseth, and Dick Wolk <br /> <br />Others Present: Michelle Tassi, Community Development Department Assistant <br /> <br />7:33 pm Meeting – RDA, Interstate 95 Northbound & Southbound Interchanges <br /> DET# 13-14 <br />Proposed traffic sign replacement project from Wellesley to Lexington <br />within the 100-foot Buffer Zone and 200-foot Riverfront Area <br />Documentation: RDA Application 7/10/13 <br />Present for the Applicant: Andrea Norton, MassDOT District 4 <br /> <br />Ms. Norton proposed the guide sign replacement project along the <br />Waltham/Lexington line. The replacement is due to safety concerns and <br />the signs typically have a shelf life of 25 years. The existing footings for <br />the signs will remain in place and the new footings will be placed adjacent <br />to them. <br /> <br />Comments from the Commission as follows: <br />Mr. Bitsko asked if the erosion control would be comprised of straw or <br />compost. Mr. Kennedy commented that in some locations there is no sign <br />existing. Mr. Bitsko asked if a pre-construction meeting was held and <br />suggested that no excavated soil be left on site. Mr. Bitsko asked what the <br />proposed seed mix would be.
