<br /> <br />TOWN OF LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS <br />CONSERVATION COMMISSION <br />MINUTES <br />Tuesday, March 12, 2013 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />Legion Room, Cary Hall <br />1605 Massachusetts Avenue <br /> <br /> <br />Chair Joyce Miller opened the meeting at 7:41pm in the Legion Room of Cary Hall. <br /> <br />Commissioners Present: Joyce Miller, Jane Warren, Stew Kennedy, Phil Hamilton, Dick <br />Wolk (Arrived at 8:05), Duke Bitsko and David Langseth <br /> <br />Others Present: Karen Mullins, Conservation Administrator and Michelle Tassi, <br />Community Development Department Assistant <br /> <br />7:42 pm Meeting – RDA, 51 Bridge Street <br /> DET# 13-05 <br />Construction of a second story addition to a single-family dwelling within <br />the 100-foot Buffer Zone <br />Documentation: RDA Application 2/20/2013, Site Photographs and <br />Colored Site Map Received at the Meeting on 3/12/2013 <br />Present for the Applicant: Rich Kirby, LEC Environmental and Ed Cain, <br />Candlewick Properties <br /> <br />Mr. Kirby proposed construction of a second story addition to a single- <br />family dwelling with no land alterations. An orange construction fence <br />will be used for erosion control along the 25’ Buffer Zone. <br /> <br />Comments from the Commission as follows: <br />Mr. Hamilton stated that the Commission cannot approve the proposed <br />wetland line because they were not able to see it. Mr. Langseth asked if <br />any plans included with the application show the topography. Mr. Bitsko <br />agreed with the use of an orange construction fence and asked if any work <br />was proposed for the driveway or the front walkway. Mr. Cain and Mr. <br />Kirby explained that the only work proposed is a second story addition. <br />Mr. Langseth commented on the enhancement of the hedgerow and the <br />applicant should allow the wetland to be left undisturbed. Mr. Kirby stated <br />that there could be additional plantings to create a tighter hedgerow. Mr. <br />Kennedy agreed with the additional plantings and allowing the wetland to <br />go fallow. <br /> <br /> <br />
