• Tony Barrie would like to try to march in both the Arlington and Lexington
parades on Sunday. Suzie feels that this is not easy to do; Bob Tracey will ask
him to choose.
• Facilities Report. Suzie received word that Grace Chapel is changing its service times to
8 and 9:30 am on Sunday morning to ease parking concerns.
• Floats Update. Wells Fargo is sending a float this year, no horses.
• Media.
• Linda and Sandy plan to meet with Lexington Minuteman's new editor Caitlyn
Kelleher on Thursday, March 28th at 2 pm to discuss parade and Monday, April
15th program publicity in upcoming issues. Caitlyn is going to set aside time to
go through past Patriots' Day weekend coverage to try to come up with
something fresh and new. Most all of the participating units in the parade have
very interesting stories as to why they come to Lexington. Perhaps their stories
are worth exploring and sharing with the community.
• Committee members talked about the possibility of having a little news
coverage about its own volunteers.
• Jessica Steigerwald and Tanya Morrisett of the 300th Committee are willing to
help us publicize via electronic media (Facebook,Twitter etc).
• Publicity flyer will be reprinted.
• Parade Ambassadors. Twenty-four recruits have signed on with hopes that another
ten or twelve will join us. An ambassador story will be published in Lexington
Minuteman's March 28th issue.
• Sponsorship Update. Six sponsors have responded, all new this year. We are still
waiting to hear from former supporters. Reply deadline is April 151
• Miscellaneous.
• Committee will line up the parade this evening.
• Instead of walking in the Youth Sunrise Parade on Monday, April 15th, cub scouts
expressed interest in walking in Sunday's parade.
• A motion was made to accept the 300th Committee's request to hand out
bookmarks while walking along the avenue. Motion was approved and accepted.
• Eleanor Smith is the 2013 winner of the Minuteman Cane Award.
i April
..........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
• Morning. Suzie recapped the morning's events. A note about the reenactment--dress
rehearsal is scheduled for Sunday, April 7th at 2 pm at the green.
• Afternoon Events. Two groups are filling the gap created by the Old Guard's
cancellation. Norwich University will bring its regimental band and the drill team will
perform for one half hour. We have been asked to provide lunch for the band and drill
