Minutes <br />Town Celebrations Committee <br />February 13, 2013 <br />Training Room, Public Service Building, 201 Bedford Street <br />Members present <br />Suzie Barry, Chair; Dick Crogan, Co -Vice Chair; Bob Tracey, Co -Vice Chair; Linda Dixon, Jo -Anne <br />Granger, Paul Jenkins, Sondra Lucente, Julie Miller, Wayne Miller, Bill Mix, Sandy Podgorski, Charlie <br />Price. <br />Members not present <br />Mary Gillespie, Henry Murphy, Barbara Manfredi, Dave Taylor. <br />Business <br />• The group wished co -chair Bob Tracey a happy 80 Birthday. <br />• The chair declared that a quorum waspresent <br />• The minutes of February 6, 2013 were approved with minor corrections. <br />• . The next meeting is Wednesday, February 27. <br />Patriots Day 2013 <br />• Committee members agreed to meet on Saturday afternoon, April 13 to install the marching <br />order number stakes. <br />• Sondra confirmed that Wells Fargo will participate in the parade. They will send in required <br />paperwork this week. <br />• Paul has talked with all three military vehicle providers and all indicate they wish to be included <br />in this year's parade. Some have expressed willingness to shave prices and reduce the number of <br />vehicles to meet the committee's needs. We are still awaiting paperwork. Paul will stress that <br />vehicles must arrive no earlier than 11:15 a.m. to avoid conflict with church services. <br />• All financial issues and approvals for parade participants must be resolved by the committee's <br />next meeting on February 27, 2013. <br />• Applications: the committee approved, at no fee, the following three floats: <br />• Rotary Club of Lexington <br />• Operation Home Ties (portrait wall of fallen soldiers) <br />• LexFun <br />• Suzie is still waiting to hear from the League of Women Voters; Lexington /Bedford Youth <br />Hockey; Maine Twirl Girls; and the Middlesex Sheriff's Office. <br />• Parade Ambassadors: the on line sign up form is live on the Committee web page. Linda is <br />finishing up a blast email invitation letter to all former Parade Ambassadors from last year. This <br />letter includes a return response form and a fact sheet. It will go out this week. <br />• The final town -wide planning meeting will take place on February 26. Agenda items will include <br />use of Hayden and Lincoln Field parking areas; possible bus lineup around Hastings Park at end <br />of afternoon parade on Sunday; street closings for Old Guard performance on Monday; possible <br />moving of the reviewing stand after the Reenactment for the Old Guard performance. <br />The meeting adjourned at 8:25 p.m. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Linda Dixon, Co- Secretary <br />
