The meeting minutes of June 26 and July 24 were accepted as
written.
He introduced Cindy Keuchle and her daughter Eliza who were observing, with Cindy considering joining
our committee. Brian Kelley was hoping that Doug Lucente, another prospective member, would be
able to attend but he had a conflict.
Overlook damage — Brian Kelley reported on the damage. He will add lumber to make it safe but said
that it needs to be upgraded to pressure treated lumber. Bob Pressman added that there is a hole in the
boardwalk. Brian will check this out and repair it as needed.
David reported on behalf of Wes Wirth, who was unable to be in attendance, that Miles had talked to
Mr. Cooper and the poison ivy will be treated as soon as possible. Our new signs are in process and
should be ready to install soon.
Bathrooms — Brian said that the wiring has been done in the building and they are waiting for NSTAR.
The plumbing and locks should be done next week. When this is completed, they will take down the
fence. He is still close on money and will need funds for landscaping. Part of this will come from the
Fund for Lexington. There will be a major donor sign. The Website is up and running. John Suber did
this to help him. There was a discussion about publicity concerning the opening of the bathrooms.
Vanessa reported that the approximately one hundred ferns that had been installed had gone dormant.
Asters, cardinal flowers and turtlehead are now in bloom. The birch grove looks good. She
complimented "Tim ", one of Bob Barnard's employees, who is exceptional and can handle anything.
Last Tuesday, the area was watered and some maintenance was done.
There was discussion about maintaining the area between the Hayden field and the boardwalk.
Vanessa will speak to Wesley about a bathroom landscape plan which we need before we get the
I .
money from the Fund for Lexington. If Jim P11cLaughlin is doing the landscaping and site preparation, it is
hoped that he can also widen the stone dui; paths where needed. Lynne needs to talk to him.
The next meeting will be October 2 at the ; bathrooms. The meeting was adjourned at 5:30.
Respectfully submitted
i
