Meeting Conduct -Anne Senning spoke about how we might retain the collegiate
manner of discussion that has characterized our meetings in the past. Listening to others
as they spoke, waiting to be recognized before speaking and not interrupting others would
be helpful in maintaining a courteous atmosphere.A suggestion was made that speakers
try to be concise in their statements and positions as a means of moving the meetings
along at a better pace. Those attending concurred.
3. 11 Castle Road -The owner had requested of Jewel K. what the setback criteria
was for Town supplied trees as during the October 2012 storm he had lost a large Oak
and in addition had two other trees taken down. After discussion the Tree Committee
reaffirmed the 20 foot nominal distance, to allow us to spread our resources further. Jewel
K. will communicate this information to the homeowner.
4. Town Hall Shrubs now in Nursery -The DPW is in process of replanting the Town
Hall area. Until it is clearer what the needs for shrubs is they should remain in the
Nursery. After completion of the total planting effort, left over shrubs could be made
available to the Conservation Stewards.
The DPW would be appreciative of anyone in the Tree Committee who wanted to take on
the Landscape Design task of where to replant the shrubs now in the Nursery, to the
Town Hall area.
a. Replanting of the Linden displaced by the new "300" town clock. The new
location for this approximately 4 inch caliper Linden has not been designated.
