MINUTES <br />Greenways Corridor Committee <br />February 25, 2013, 4:30 -6 pm <br />Legion Room, Cary Hall <br />Members Present Rick Abrams, Alex Dohan, Eileen Entin, Bob Hausslein, Paul Knight, Aaron <br />Ladd, Keith Ohmart, Mike Tabaczynski <br />Other Attendees Stew Kennedy (Conservation Commission liaison), Howie Vogel (Recreation <br />Committee liaison) <br />1. Votes: <br />• January 28 meeting Minutes — approved <br />2. Current Business Review: <br />• ACROSS Lexington Project (Rick) — Mike, Eileen, Keith & Rick are starting with <br />a "clean slate" and pinpointing locations of interest on a town map to consider <br />possible next routes. Will present ideas at next GCC meeting. <br />• Rick Abrams Trust Fund to be "accepted" by Selectmen tonight. <br />• Bike /Walk/Bus Week (Peggy) — no report in Peggy's absence, but Aaron, Keith, <br />Rick and Stew are all planning to lead activities during the week of May 5 -11, <br />2013. <br />3. Current Business Updates: <br />• ACROSS Lexington Community Preservation Grant Update (Keith) — A public <br />Q &A meeting will be held as part of the Town Meeting Members Assoc. info <br />session. The CPC has voted in favor of funding and it is listed in the Town <br />Warrant (p. 12). Next step is Town Meeting vote. <br />• Trail Easement Database — The database is now available through Dropbox. If <br />you make updates, note in title with your initials and date. Some site visits are <br />needed and some perusal of Town records. <br />• Middlesex Greenway Coalition (Rick/Keith) — This group is building steam in an <br />effort to prevent development of the Burlington Canyon, which abuts Lexington. <br />If this property is preserved, the Coalition may approach the Town of Lexington <br />regarding possible access points. The Coalition is planning an informational <br />meeting for other interested conservation/preservation groups in the area. If some <br />access issues are overcome it could be possible to connect the Mary Cummings <br />Estate and Whispering Hills to Horn Pond and the Middlesex Fells in the future. <br />• West Lexington Greenwav Master Plan report to Cabital Exnenditure Comm. <br />(Keith) — went well — Committee interested in what /when of next steps <br />4. New Business: <br />• Access to Town open space map (Rick) — Changes and improvements are being <br />made to the Town GIS maps. Better information is now available and will <br />eventually be accessible to the public in some form. A sample link is available on <br />the Recreation Department web page. <br />• Stew mentioned the Spring Massachusetts Trails Conference, the date of which <br />was unknown. Addendum — May 4, 2013, at Devens, 8am -4pm. <br />
