Commission on Disability <br />Meeting Minutes for July 11, 2012 <br />Stone Room in Cary Hall <br />Members Present: Victoria Buckley, Susan Cusack, Janice Cyr, Michael Martinetti, Julie Miller, <br />Leonard Morse - Fortier, Janet Perry, Francine Stieglitz and Jennifer Williams. <br />Staff: Garry Rhodes <br />Meeting Began at 5:50pm. <br />1. Minutes for June 7 th meeting were approved unanimously. <br />2. Discussion of next steps after our prioritization of the ADA Title II Self Evaluation items /list <br />from the consultant's report and Garry's input on some of the issues that surfaced. <br />A. CoD would like an answer on whether the maintenance staff could handle some of the <br />issues — signage, mirrors. Garry suggests meeting with Pat Goddard to discuss: <br />a) whether his staff could handle smaller issues, <br />b) how to coordinate a plan for a feasibility study (for paths and flows through key <br />buildings) <br />c) maintenance issues with ground materials at some of the schools and <br />d) what can be done in -house and what must become a project and outsourced. <br />B. How to re -work some of the spaces to either "reposition" where the elevators are <br />currently located in Clark Middle and Lexington High schools versus "fixing" them in their <br />present locations. <br />a) a feasibility study could be recommended to review options for elevators in all the <br />appropriate places. School mobility specialist could be consulted as part of the <br />feasibility study and to address issues related to use of space. <br />C. The creation of a design for all the parking lots and accessible spaces. <br />D. Pat Goddard will be invited to the August meeting to discuss these items. <br />3. Review of how to be involved with the Lexington 300 plans - There will be a September <br />Opening Ceremony; a large event at Cary Hall and Lexington High School. To be discussed at next <br />month's meeting. <br />4. Garry Rhodes new permits and updates: <br />A. At 1762 Massachusetts Avenue, next door to Bodyscapes, on 2nd floor of Coldwell Bank, <br />will soon be a Hot Yoga Studio. The Studio will need to put an elevator on the back of the <br />building with access from the parking lot. They have a building permit but <br />
