Commission on Disability <br />Meeting Minutes for June 7, 2012 <br />5: 30 pm to 7: 00 pm <br />Parker Room, G -1, Lexington Town Hall <br />Members Present: Victoria Buckley, Susan Cusack, Janice Cyr, Julie Miller, Leonard <br />Morse - Fortier, Janet Perry, and Francine Stieglitz <br />Members Not Present: Jennifer Williams <br />Staff Present: Linda Vine <br />Additional Attendees: Candy McLaughlin, Sean Newell <br />Meeting Began at 5:30pm <br />Minutes for the May 9, 2012 meeting were approved unanimously. <br />This entire meeting was dedicated to reviewing and prioritizing the "Americans with <br />Disabilities Act, Title 11 Self- Evaluation document. Notes were taken by Candy <br />McLaughlin and are as follows: <br />Meeting- Commission on Disability <br />Review and prioritization of The Americans with Disabilities Act, Title 11 <br />Transition Plan <br />June 7, 2012 <br />The Commission on Disabilities reviewed "The Americans with Disabilities Act, Title 11 <br />Self- Evaluation and recommend the following prioritization: <br />The public buildings were prioritized in order of importance by the commission and the <br />most significant items in need of correction were included under each facility. The <br />Commission emphasized the need to follow the developmental learning path at the <br />schools which includes the following pathways: <br />Harington / Hastings — early childhood <br />Clarke / Diamond <br />Lexington High School (LABB) <br />The Commission also said that in general they would like to recommend that upgrades be <br />made based upon the following triage method: <br />1. Parking (van loading and unloading areas) <br />2. Entrance Ways <br />3. Bathrooms <br />4. Counter heights & wheelchair accessible <br />5. Circulation / egress pathways <br />6. Signage <br />Cary Memorial Library <br />Signage <br />items 3, 9, 10, 11 <br />Cary Memorial Building <br />hearing / acoustics <br />included in master plan <br />
