<br />LDAC <br /> <br />EXINGTONESIGNDVISORYOMMITTEE <br />Meeting Minutes: <br /> <br />April 3, 2007 <br /> <br />Present: <br />Colin Smith (Chair), John Frey, Alenka Slezak, Timothy Lee, Bahig Kaldas, Patrick Goddard <br />Scribe: <br /> <br />Colin Smith <br />Call to Order: <br /> <br />The Meeting was called to Order at 7:30PM. <br /> <br />Approvals: <br />March 6, 2007 Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Presentations/Review: <br />31 Massachusetts Ave- Car Wash <br />The DAC reviewed (for a third time) a site plan for a new car wash facility at 31 Massachusetts Ave. The <br />redesign has taken into account previous DAC concerns with respect to the overall intensity of use of this <br />site. In addition to the site plan, building elevations and signage were presented for review. The building <br />scale, materials and signage all appear to be appropriate to the surrounding context. One area that remains <br />a concern is the extremely wide curb cut (3+ lanes). While we understand the functional aspects of the <br />proposed design, itÓs important to maintain a definition between <br />remain concerned, for safety reasons, about the reliance of portions of the sidewalk, nearest the vacuum <br />equipment, being used for transverse traffic circulation within the site. At a minimum, a granite curb with <br />paving should be introduced in this location to clarify vehicle <br />recommended approval of the project with the above-mentioned com <br /> <br />Other Business: <br />New Member <br />The DAC welcomed Patrick Goddard as a new full member of the Design Advisory Committee. <br /> <br />Adjournment: <br />The meeting was adjourned at approximately 9:00PM. <br /> <br />Next Meeting: <br />Scheduled for Tuesday May 1 @ 7:30PM. <br /> <br /> <br />Cc: Board of Selectmen <br /> Wendy Manz, Planning Board Liaison <br />
