Minutes Town Celebrations Committee October 3, 2012 Estabrook Hall, Cary Hall Members Present Suzie Barry, Dick Crogan, Linda Dixon, Mary Gillespie, Jo-Anne Granger, Paul Jenkins, Julie Miller, Wayne Miller, Bill Mix, Henry Murphy, Sandy Podgorski and Bob Tracey Members Not Present Sondra Lucente, Charlie Price, Jim Shaw and Dave Taylor Business  Suzie Barry convened the meeting at 7:05 pm.  Minutes. The September 19, 2012 minutes were approved with one change.  Election of Vice Chairman. Qualifications for the position were discussed. Suzie expressed need for a candidate who is available and able to give considerable help to the chairman with the possibility of stepping into the position at a later date. The following motion is a result of that conversation -- The motion was made to accept Linda Dixon’s proposal to nominate Bob Tracey and Dick Crogan as co-vice chairman, which was unanimously approved.  The need for new members was reiterated.  Calendar and member work assignments for upcoming events will be discussed at the next meeting. Veterans’ Breakfast 2012 Update  Thank you cards. Mary Gillespie asked for permission to invite veterans to accompany her and Jane Huntley, head of the elementary social studies program, to elementary classrooms to talk about veterans’ day and card preparation for distribution to the veterans at the breakfast. Permission is required for the veterans to visit the classrooms (as is the policy for all visitors) and every elementary school will be asked to participate in the project.  Ryan Lennon made flyers for posting around town. Sandy Podgorski and Dick Crogan will help with this.
