Lexington Human Rights Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 15, 2013 <br />Present: Albert Zabin, Linda Vine, Michael McLean, Emily Lavine, Bonnie Brodner, <br />Hank Manz Melissa Buttaro, Bhumip Khasnabish <br />Meeting was called to order at 8:05 am <br />Community Incident — Report given by Lt. Michael McLean <br />Resident contacted the Police to complain that she was not helped when she pulled in to <br />buy gas. Attendant then served another customer. <br />Police investigated and found that language might be an issue, business owner <br />understood the concern. <br />After a lengthy discussion we agreed on the following outcomes: <br />1. Michael will follow -up with alleged victim and discuss role of HRC <br />2. Al will draft a letter to the business and to the alleged victim — letter will be <br />reviewed by HRC <br />3. Melissa will draft an educational letter to area businesses — letter will be reviewed <br />by HRC at the April Meeting. <br />4. Linda will send out the charge to assist in drafting of these letters <br />Lt. Michael McLean discussed a couple of other issues with break -ins. He has reached <br />out to Sophia Ho to draft a letter to the Asian Community, specifically the restaurant <br />owners and Puran Dang to send out an e -mail on how to prevent home break -ins. <br />Next Meeting: Friday, April 5 th at 8:00 a.m. in the Board of Selectmen's Meeting Room <br />
