Lexington Tourism Committee - Meeting Minutes <br />Monday, January 23, 2012 at 4 p.m. <br />Members Present: BebeFallick, Carla Fortmann, Dawn McKenna, John Patrick., Jim Shaw <br />Staff: Masha Traber <br />Members Absent: Mary Gillespie, Paul O'Shaughnessy, Kerry Brandin, Mary Jo Bohart, Lou <br />Sideris <br />1.Annual Report submission: Discussed new items and specifics to insert. Highlights were <br />new mission statement and vision for the committee. <br />2.Liberty Ride Operations <br />a. Assistant position will be posted again this year <br />b. Sunday start at Alewife discussed <br />c. Use of trolley in Patriots Day Parade discussed <br />d. Parking near Visitors Center for Liberty Ride customers was reviewed to <br />accommodate new starting location. <br />3. Antony <br />a. AFrench A Faire to be held in February 12 as a fundraiser for the Park <br />b. Antony Park RFPs are out and at least 3 firms have responded <br />4. Denise Ricketts, an events planner, is applying for committee membership <br />S. Intern volunteer from Middlesex C.C. will work for the committee for 10 hrs a week, helping <br />to add names to our data base and work on Revolutionary Revelry. <br />6. The bulk of the meeting was a presentation from Marlo Marketing to tell how they might <br />help us focus our energies on activities that bring us the most value toward our committee's <br />vision. <br />Marlo is a 16 person public relations and advertising firm who consider themselves <br />"brand builders ". They would help renew our website and reach out to social media, help <br />manage media relations and possibly help with advertising. <br />7. Visitor Center addition proposal was discussed, especially in light of the letter from the <br />board of the Lexington Historical Society. <br />Meeting adjourned at 7 p.m. <br />Documents available for inspection <br />1.
