Minutes of the meeting of <br />Monday, June 18, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. <br />Room G -15 <br />Members Present: Bebe Fallick, Carla Fortmann, Dawn McKenna, Denise Ricketts <br />Staff: Masha Traber Guest: Fred Johnson <br />Absent: Mary Jo Bohart, Kerry Brandin, Mary Gillespie, Nicole Lewis, Paul O'Shaughnessy, John <br />Patrick, Jim Shaw, Lou Sideris <br />1) Minutes - Deferred due to lack of quorum. <br />2) Liberty Ride Operations <br />a) Masha provided a brief overview of the Liberty Ride operations. Daily service began on <br />Memorial Day weekend. Matt MacKenzie was hired as Assistant Liberty Ride <br />Coordinator for this season. Sufficient guides have been hired and operations are going <br />well. The synergy caused by the relocation of the start to the Visitors Center is <br />encouraging. <br />3) Committee Members — those present were asked to think about what organizations would <br />best support tourism outreach that we might approach for new members. <br />4) Strategies and Funding Priorities Based on Vision and Mission Statement <br />a) The content for the Trip Advisor ads was discussed. Kerry will be asked to help design <br />ads for the three spots on the page. <br />5) 2012 -2013 Visitors Guide — those present were asked to review the content of the existing <br />guide so we can discuss it at a future meeting. <br />6) Goals to Selectmen <br />The Selectmen have asked each committee for feedback on any goals they would like to be <br />considered as part of their annual goal setting. Dawn will be meeting with the Selectmen this <br />evening to discuss Antony Park. <br />7) Updates <br />a) Christopher Bing is interested in doing a staged reading of A Christmas Carol at Cary <br />Hall in December. He would like the Committee to work with him on the project. In the <br />absence of a quorum, we could not commit but encouraged him to pursue this event. <br />Christopher hopes it will become an annual event. His next book will be an illustrated <br />version of a Christmas Carol.
