1985 Town Meetings - Article Action Summary <br />Article 1. ANNUAL TOWN ELECTION. Reported under <br />that heading. <br />Article 2. REPORTS. This article remains open <br />throughout the meeting. During the 1985 meeting, <br />reports were received and accepted from: Town <br />Manager, Board of Selectmen, Planning Board, Appro- <br />priation Committee, Capital Expenditures Committee, <br />School Committee, Conservation Commission, Recre- <br />ation Committee, and North Lexington Improvement <br />Study Committee. <br />Article 3. APPOINTMENT TO CARY LECTURE SERIES. <br />ADOPTED: The Moderator to appoint a committee of <br />three to have charge of the lectures under the wills <br />of Eliza Cary Farnham and Suzanna E. Cary. <br />March 25. <br />Article 4. CHARLES FERGUSON FUND. ADOPTED: To <br />accept with gratitude the gift of the late Alice R. <br />Ferguson in the amount of $5,000 in memory of <br />Charles E. Ferguson, who served the town as Select- <br />man, Moderator, State Representative and State <br />Senator. March 25. <br />Article 5. DOG HEARING PROCEDURES. ADOPTED: To <br />authorize the Selectmen to petition the General <br />Court under G. L. c. 140 s. 157 for an act to permit <br />the Chief of Police or his designee to carry out the <br />functions assigned to the Selectmen relating to <br />complaints. March 25. <br />Article 6. DISCLOSURE OF REAL PROPERTY. LOST: <br />Requiring elected and appointed officials to <br />disclose their property holdings in Lexington. <br />March 25. <br />Article 7. PROFESSIONAL REVIEW BOARD. ADOPTED as <br />AMENDED: That the Board of Selectmen appoint a <br />committee of five to study the current system for <br />identifying and dealing with present and potential <br />hazardous substances in Lexington and to report back <br />with recommendations to the Board of Health, Board <br />of Selectmen and the 1986 Annual Town Meeting. <br />May 13. <br />Article 8.
