Bartenstein, R. Cole, R.
Eurich, P. Hamburger, P. Hoffman, D. Kanter, E. Michelson, R. Addelson (Assistant
Town Manager for Finance; non-voting)

The meeting was called to order at 6:40 by Al Levine in Town Office Bldg. Rm. 111.
PM

Rob Addelson informed the Committee that the Board of Selectmen and the Town
Manager want to proceed with the request for $50K for the Fire Station floor even though
full information about the project is not available. He also stated that of the $300K being
requested for sidewalks, $100K is for use in the Center and $200K for neighborhoods.

David Kanter will speak at Town Meeting on the sidewalk appropriation and will state
that the Committee still recommends a total of only $250K. Paul Hamburger will also
speak and will say that the use of brick, e.g., for the Center walk is too expensive.

The Committee voted 6-3 to recommend $0 for Art. 28c2 for the Fire Station floor. It
was our understanding that this supported the Capital Expenditures Committee position.

In regard to Article 35, Eric Michelson spoke in favor of using the Parking Fund to cover
expenses of expanding the municipal parking lot onto the Nstar property. Pro and con
discussion followed. The Committee voted 4-5 on a motion to recommend $125K under
this article.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 .
PM

Alan M.
