<br /> March 16, 2006 <br />Minutes <br />Town of Lexington Appropriation Committee <br />March 16, 2006 <br /> <br /> <br />Members Present: Al Levine (Chair), Deborah Brown (Vice Chair), John Bartenstein, <br />Rod Cole, Rick Eurich, Paul Hamburger, David Kanter, Eric Michelson. <br /> <br />Additional Attendees: Dawn McKenna, Michael Young (Budget Officer), Helen Cohen <br />(School Committee Chair) <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:35 by Al Levine in Town Office Bldg. Rm. 111. <br />PM <br /> <br />1. Paul volunteered to take minutes. <br />2. The minutes of Feb. 23 were accepted as amended. <br />3. Email from David Kanter summarized Selectmen’s meetings. <br />4. The sound system will be funded without tax levy support. $2K will be funded by <br />the Fund for Lexington in addition to the $10K grant already received from the <br />Lions’ Club. <br />5. Dawn McKenna reported on the Liberty Ride. Michael Young said that the Town <br />and Committee records agree. The FY2006 deficit as of this date was $2400. <br />This was expected to be made up in part by $800 in the Selectmen’s gift account <br />and $1000 in a renewed contribution leaving $600 to be raised. Eleven charters <br />are expected to be the source of additional revenue before the end of the fiscal <br />year. <br />6. Pam distributed a document stating the current override amounts which was based <br />on information from Tom Diaz and Dr. Ash. <br />7. Deborah agreed to email to Helen the document by John and Deborah on the <br />stabilization fund. <br />8. Al will capsulize a request to School Committee for FTE information. <br />9. Community Preservation Fund was discussed. The Community Preservation <br />Committee can identify projects to be funded in the Spring Town Meeting. <br />10. Paul presented the Tax Impact appendix for the report.
