Prior projects <br />•LHS auditorium lighting bids $45,000 over <br />appropriation, so drafting new specs with FOLMADS consultant <br />LHS and Diamond stages just rerigged (cables, <br />etc.); rigging company could look at Cary needs and <br />costs for theatrical use of stage, if wanted <br />•Hastings stress crack engineered, to be bid Feb., work <br />in spring <br />•Hastings roof: bids requested three times, no bidders, <br />because of timing; rebid in March for summer 2005 work <br />•Harrington gym floor work done and under budget about <br />$25k <br />•Estabrook roof repairs: Weathershield fixed a lot of <br />leaks, ongoing <br />•LHS science building: whole roof stripped, new <br />membrance, reflashed <br />•LHS gym roof leakes fixed and seems okay now <br />•LHS indoor track finished, ribbon cutting 11/27 <br /> <br />2. Harrington/Fiske <br /> Harrington work ongoing, timing of move to be <br />determined, possibly MLKing Day, February break, or later <br /> Fiske: siting issues still open; but new public <br />construction laws, Ch. 193, also require prequalification <br />process for general contractor and all subtrades, and no <br />state procedures exist; have to check references, banks, <br />insurer on all, prequalify all, and get 3 bids per subtrade, <br />or rebid whole process; has slowedbidding from Sept. 2004 to <br />February 2005; demolition could be separate, as Lexington <br />structured it, or folded back into general contractor’s bid; <br />steel and concrete costs are up, but given $32 mil. <br />appropriation for the two schools, should be okay as of now <br /> <br /> <br />
