<br />Town of Lexington <br />Capital Expenditures Committee <br /> <br />Meeting Notes <br /> <br />September 24, 2002 <br />Clarke Middle School Cafeteria <br /> <br /> <br />Committee members present: Bhatia, Hornig, Rosenberg, Stolz <br />Absent: Burnell <br /> <br />The committee remained in session after the conclusion of <br />the first budget summit meeting with the Selectmen, the <br />School Committee, and the Appropriation Committee. <br /> <br />By consent of the members present, Stolz was elected <br />committee chair for the current year. Selection of a vice <br />chair was deferred until all members could be present. <br />Rosenberg was elected clerk/secretary. <br /> <br />The committee agreed to meet October 8 to review important <br />issues for the budget cycle, the cash-capital policy, etc. <br /> <br />It also agreed to the following principal assignments for <br />this year’s budget cycle: <br /> Stolz as chair, managing committee affairs, acting as <br />liaison to the Selectmen, and Fire and Library. <br /> Horning, Conservation and Recreation, and assuming lead <br />responsibility for the budgeting/quantitative sections of <br />the committee’s report to Town Meeting. <br /> Burnell, Schools. <br /> Bhatia, Department of Public Works <br /> Rosenberg, Liaison to committee now being formed by the <br />Selectmen to study 201 Bedford Street, Department of Public <br />Works facilities, Senior Center; and coordinate writing of <br />the committee’s report to Town Meeting. <br /> <br />In addition to the October 8 committee meeting, the <br />following critical dates are on the calendar: <br /> October 22 or 23, Recreation presentation <br /> October 28, Departments submit capital budget items <br /> October 29, Summit Meeting II <br /> October 31, DPW presentation <br /> (Other principal department presentations to be <br />arranged in early November) <br /> <br />
