Votes:
• June 25 meeting Minutes - approved
• June 12 ACROSS Lexington Subcommittee Minutes -approved
2. Current Business Review:
Report on ACROSS Lexin ton proj ect
Rick reviewed the informal presentation with the Historic District
Commission. The HDC liked the concept and the icon /logo and were
supportive overall. A formal presentation will be made at a later date
(originally Aug 2, now scheduled for Sept 6). Some discussion of sign
frequency.
Rick also gave a quick overview of the Conservation Commission version
of his powerpoint for 7/24. Mike's universal trail marking plan calls for
white arrows on black background for main trail directional signs at
intersections, and blue arrows on white background for internal connector
trails. Some felt the resulting different uses for the blue & white
combinations (ACROSS logo and connector signs) in close proximity
could cause misleading visual cues.
3. Current Business Updates:
Highland Ave/Pelham Road (Bob) — Bob and Tom Whelan will meet with
the Armenian Sisters at Youville Place (7/25) to talk about the trail access.
It will be a footpath, but the possibility of making it accessible to walkers
and wheelchairs was brought up.
Wood Street trail improvement (Stew) —Jay Sklar has filed a Request for
Determination of Applicability with the Conservation Commission for the
Conestoga Rd part of the trail. Lincoln Lab has already put up $2000 and
the boardwalk building will be a Stewards project.
Diamond Trail project (Stew) — Drew Lepore will be doing the trail
cutting in August, presently working out details. Stew will supervise.
4. New Business:
Rick solicited small funds for a thank you gift for Betsy Sarles for her
design work on the ACROSS logo
