<br /> <br />TreeComMinutes 1-9-03 <br />Minutes - Lexington Town Tree Committee <br />January 9, 2003 @ 7:45 AM <br />Town Office Building: Rm. 111 <br />Attendance: J. Frey, D. Pinsonneault, A. Senning, S. Solomon, N. Walker, J. Wood and J. Krieger <br />(Selectman) <br />1. The minutes of the December 14, 2002 meeting were approved as submitted. <br />2. N. Walker will send sympathy note to Joanne Grisham on the death of her daughter. <br /> Grisham will be invited to become an associate member. <br />3. Tree Permits: <br /> Only two new requests; both parties agreed to replace more trees than are removed. <br /> Spreadsheet to be amended to include replanting information. <br />4. Lexington Toyota: <br /> Board of Appeals has taken no action. D. Pinsonneault will send list of recommended species. Black <br />Locust suggested. <br />5. FY 2003 Tree Inventory Budget Request: <br /> No funding this FY for Tree Inventory. <br /> Inventory should include: species, location, condition, size, overhead wires, neighbors, etc. <br /> Town GIS system not up-to-speed. [Wood] <br />6. Preliminary Budget Cut Estimates: [Pinsonneault] <br /> One Forestry position is lost. <br /> Cut overtime for street light replacement (done by tree maintenance crew) <br /> Only four positions for cemeteries, trees, parks and street light maintenance. <br /> Park Dept. is responsible for recreation playing fields (15 positions). <br />7. Tree Plantings: <br /> All appropriated moneys were spent. <br /> Warranties will replace trees that died. <br />8. Public Relations: <br /> Suggest picture and article on a resident who donated trees at Clarke Middle School as a Memorial. <br />Aim is for an article and photo in a Spring MinuteMan. [Solomon & Walker] <br />9.
