Pinsonneault, A. Senning, <br />S. Solomon and N. Walker, J. Wood. <br /> <br />1. The minutes of the November 14, 2002 meeting were approved. <br /> <br />2. Selectmen's Breakfast (November, 22) report. [Longeteig] <br /> Phyllis Smith is the liaison between all appointed and elected committees. <br /> A tree walk was sponsored by the Newcomers Club. <br /> Recreation (Sandy Shaw) hopes to break ground on Lincoln Field by Christmas. <br /> <br />3. Tree Removal Reports received [Pinsonneault] <br /> Recommended that type and size of tree removed be added to the spread sheet. <br /> <br />4. Report for 2002 Town Report [Frey] <br /> Approved with minor additions. <br /> <br />5. ZBA Report on Lexington Toyota (Massachusetts Ave.) [Frey] <br /> Requesting permission to remove twelve (12) Bradford pears because fruit droppings are difficult to <br /> remove from new cars (hearing required by the Planning Board conditions 20 years ago as part of <br /> original rezoning). <br /> Recommend pruning (no overhead wires); if necessary removal of 6 trees per year with replanting of <br /> showy varieties. <br /> <br />6. Town Report Photo <br /> Buckman Tavern; 12:30 AM; Dec. 14. <br /> <br />7. Approved plan to plant ten (10) trees at Belfrey Hill and at Massachusetts Ave./Fletcher Ave. <br /> Playground. <br /> <br />8. Old Res Replanting <br /> Proceeding on schedule with cooperation of owner. <br /> Spruce wall of six (6) foot trees planted. <br /> Stumps covered with 6-12 inches of chips. <br />9. Tree Manual <br /> As Longeteig will soon be going out of town, revisions must proceed quickly. <br /> <br />10. 40B Plan on Lowell St. <br /> Full of loopholes. Good faith agreement necessary. Can't enforce our recommendations. <br /> <br />11. Lincoln Field discussion <br /> Natural vs. artificial turf. <br /> Liability issues to Town - benefits equal quick repair [Wood] <br /> Petition with almost three hundred signatures presented to Town Manager. <br /> Issues: Only one solution was presented ("Irresponsible not to look at all alternatives" [Walker]. Need <br /> to consider flooding, injuries, replacement costs, maintenance, etc. <br /> <br />12.
