<br />Minutes - Lexington Town Tree Committee <br />November 14, 2002 @ 7:30 AM <br />Town Office Building: Room 111 <br />Attendance: J. Frey, K. Longeteig, P. Mazarall, D. Pinsonneault, A. Senning, S. Solomon and N. Walker. <br />1. The minutes of the October 10, 2002 meeting were approved as corrected. <br />2. J. Frey, K. Longeteig will attend the Selectmen’s Breakfast November, 22. <br />3. Tree Removal Folly (Dean Curtin @ "Old Res"). <br /> D. Pinsonneault issued "cease & desist order". <br /> J. Frey and D. Pinsonneault will meet, with Curtin, on site, Friday, November 15 @ 1:00 PM. <br /> Replanting/replacement negotiations in progress. <br /> Town Council alerted for possible legal action. <br /> Town staff reminded to forward all tree issue calls to DPW <br />4. D. Pinsonneault received 65-70 calls regarding tree removals in Oct./Nov. <br /> Status reports will be available at the December meeting. <br />5. Lexington grant moneys will be analyzed for funds that can be used for tree plantings. Spring planting <br />being planned. M. Foti has the planting contract. <br />6. Budget Report: <br /> Year of zero increases projected. <br /> Funds will be received from NSTAR and other utilities. <br /> Inventory program on hold. B. Hadley and R. White recognize importance and will try to find a way but <br />can’t support any new items for the ’03 budget. <br /> Massachusetts DEM tree education program is a possible fund source; D. Pinsonneault is <br />investigating. <br />7. Approved J. Frey’s letter to Board of Appeal, et al re 40B development on Lowell St. <br />8. Tree Manual: <br /> Editing session made minor corrections. <br /> Thanks to K. Longeteig for assuming editorship. <br /> Add appendix on Memorial Trees; Ledger to maintained at Town Office Bldg. <br /> Add appendix on Diagrams. Will look for a volunteer or possibly use the expertise of N. Walker’s son. <br /> Add Tree By-Law as appendix. <br />9. 2003 Arbor Day Site (Town Property at the Visitors Center): <br /> J. Frey recommended site and board approved. <br /> Tree selection by Tree Warden. Possibly Oak since it is our national tree. <br />10.
