<br /> <br />Town of Lexington <br />Historic Districts Commission <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Minutes of June 1, 2000 <br /> <br /> <br />Commissioners in attendance: Ian Adamson, Mark DiNapoli, Dan Fenn, Joann Gschwendtner, <br />and Associate Commissioners Jeff Denzak, Dan Griffin, and Eleanor MacQueen. <br /> <br />PETITIONS HEARD: <br /> <br />36 Bedford Street - Fleet Bank - <br />Kris Loughlin received approval for a Fleet sign to replace <br />Bank Boston on the Stop & Shop. No approval needed for interior sign. Certificate No. 2000C- <br />51. <br /> <br />2030 Mass. Avenue - <br />Jack and Ann Strominger received approval for ridge and soffit vents, <br />removal of door; 2 new windows (side by side), new door to deck; and to paint front door <br />California Roasted Pepper and doors on Parker either Roasted Pepper or White. Certificate No. <br />2000C-52. <br /> <br />1822 Mass. Avenue - Sovereign Bank - <br />William Glass presented a sign for Sovereign Bank. <br />Received approval to install temporary sign. Will return in July with other options. Commission <br />asked Sovereign to consider eliminating the white border and starburst, keeping the lamp and <br />also to tone down red color. Continued to July. <br /> <br />52 Waltham Street - <br />Windspeed Capital LLC - Steve Hurley received approval for restoration <br />and landscape improvements. Continued for different lights. Certificate No. 2000C-53. <br /> <br />7 Muzzey Street - <br />Dr. KarenBraga and Dr. James Belanger presented a drawing of a projecting <br />sign. Asked for guidance from Commission on size and color. Commission suggested brown <br />with gold lettering approximately 2-1/2 x 2 feet. Will return with detailed information. <br /> <br />1580 Mass. Avenue - First Baptist Church - <br />Steve Hurley received approval for 2 benches, <br />improvement of front steps with new railings and surrounding landscaping. Certificate No. <br />2000C-54. <br /> <br />1347 Mass. Avenue - <br />Eileen Reynolds received approval to paint home Buckman Tavern colors <br />with option of shutters being green or trim color. Certificate No. 2000C-55. <br /> <br />CONTINUED HEARINGS <br /> <br />One Oakland Street - <br />Janet Tiampo received approval for 3' picket fence (Walpole Sudbury - <br />straight across) in front; to leave screen door white; relocate stepping stones to front of house; <br />and add Walpole Sudbury white picket gate (4' high) with recommended thick shrubs on either <br />side of gate in front of wire fence.
