<br /> <br />Town of Lexington <br />Historic Districts Commission <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Minutes of January 6, 2000 <br /> <br /> <br />Commissioners in attendance: Ian Adamson, Mark DiNapoli, Dan Fenn, Joann Gschwendtner, <br />and Lynn Hopkins; Associate Commissioners:, Jeffrey Denzak, Elaine Doran, Daniel Griffin, <br />and Eleanor MacQueen. <br /> <br />William Dailey and Peter Meek asked to make a courtesy visit to explain that the fundraising is <br />ongoing and that the Library is eager to work with the Commission to complete the project. <br /> <br />PETITIONS HEARD: <br /> <br />998 Mass. Avenue – East Lexington Fire Station – Peter Chalpin, Town Engineer, received <br />approval to install Slateline 40-year shingles (slate blue blend). The copper will be reinstalled <br />over the ridge vent. The chimney will be rebuilt reusing existing brick. Soffit vent will be <br />replaced and match office building. Commissioners asked that a bracket be installed for horn on <br />chimney. Certificate No. 2000C-1 <br /> <br />735 Mass. Avenue – East Lexington Library – Peter Chalpin, Town Engineer, received approval <br />for a ridge vent on already reshingled roof using same material. Reroofing was emergency <br />repair. Certificate No. 2000C-2 <br /> <br />10 Bloomfield Street – Matthew Sadler received approval for a storm/screen door and hardware <br />for front entrance. Will be painted to match front door. Certificate No. 2000C-3 <br /> <br />922 Mass. Avenue – Edwin and Britta McCarthy discussed an addition to the rear of the house. <br />Continued for details. <br /> <br />1709 Mass. Avenue – Dale Broach, representing Carolinas, received approval for a hanging sign <br />on Mass. Avenue. Continued for change to individual lettering signs. Certificate No. 2000C-4 <br /> <br />1776 Mass. Avenue – Citizens Bank request for signage continued for change in sign design. <br /> <br />1-16 Judges Road – Alan Slawsby, representing Pine Grove Village, Inc., received approval to <br />replace all windows with Harvey Classic Vinyl windows. Certificate No. 2000C-5 <br /> <br />36 Bedford Street – Tom Fenn, representing Stop and Shop, received approval for the loading <br />dock fencing, with the removal of the barbed wire. Certificate No. 2000C-6 <br /> <br />1088 Mass. Avenue – Donald and Victoria Sullivan received approval for the demolition of the <br />garage and existing driveway. After much discussion, the Commission recommended that <br />nothing be done to the existing driveway until the new driveway is approved and built. <br />Continued for relocation of driveway and windows.
