Chisholm Richard Thuma RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING February 15, 2006 Members Present: Sandra Shaw, Rick DeAngelis and Bob Boudreau Staff Present: Karen Simmons, Sheila Butts, and Dave Pinsonneault AGENDA: 1.Citizens and other boards There were no citizens or other board members present. 2.Meeting Minutes The minutes of the January 18, 2006 Recreation Committee meeting were accepted by a vote of 3-0. 3. Welcome Bob Boudreau Sandra Shaw welcomed new member Bob Boudreau to the Recreation Committee. 4.Lincoln Park Update Karen Simmons informed the Recreation Committee that DPW would be installing a guardrail around the fields at Lincoln to protect them from vehicle access. Cars got on to Field #2 this winter and did “donuts”. The money for the guardrail will come out of the article. Work on the Overlook is proceeding, but at least a month’s worth of work remains before the project is finished. The contractor will be reminded to lock the Lincoln Street chain gate nightly. Karen Simmons reported that Dave Pinsonneault had met recently with McLaughlin Construction, who will be handling the sewer connection at Lincoln Park. Work will begin once the contract has been completed. 5.Recreation Committee Member on CPA Committee The Recreation Committee voted 3 – 0 to name Sandra Shaw as the Recreation Committee member to the Community Preservation Act Committee, pending approval of the CPA by Lexington voters on March 6, 2006. 1625 MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE • LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02420
