Recreation Meeting Minutes
th
The minutes of the May 18 Recreation Committee meeting were accepted by a vote

of 3 – 0.

3. Lincoln Park Update
Sandra Shaw welcomed Bill Erickson to the Recreation Committee meeting.
Selectman Peter Kelly approached Mr. Erickson in February asking if he was
interested in revising the architectural drawing he had submitted to the Recreation
Committee in 2004 for the Lincoln Park Restroom Facility. Mr. Kelley and other
local contractors expressed interest in putting together a private initiative to fund and
construct the restrooms.
Bill Erickson explained to the Recreation Committee that his revised drawings
include reducing the number of stalls and fixtures in both the Men’s and Women’s
Rooms, reducing the storage area in the building, dropping the roof line as requested
by the Lincoln Park Sub-Committee, and increasing the overhang on the roof.
The revised plans were submitted to the Building Department for review. The
Building Department did respond with a letter itemizing the architectural and
construction concerns they had.
Members of the Recreation Committee inquired about the building materials,
windows, ventilation, and security, and discussed options with Mr. Erickson.
The members noted that the Recreation Committee must approve the design,
functionality, and aesthetics of the proposed construction.
