Neumeier <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING <br /> <br />May 16, 2001 <br /> <br /> <br />Members Present: Sandra Shaw, Pam Varrin, Don Chisholm <br /> <br />Staff Present: Karen Simmons, David Pinsonneault, Matthew Casparius <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA: <br /> <br />1. Approval of the meeting minutes from March 27, 2001 was tabled until next month’s <br />meeting. <br /> <br />2. The Skateboard/Inline Skate Park Committee will appear at next month’s meeting with their <br />report. <br /> <br />3. The Lincoln Park Sub-Committee will be present at next month’s meeting. <br /> <br />4. Marvin Park - Voluntary Public Benefit <br />Gerry Moloney, a developer working on Winter Street, has voluntarily agreed to provide a public <br />benefit to the Town. He would like to resurface the basketball court at Marvin Park. The current <br />surface has frost heaves that push rocks up through the surface. He is also interested in helping <br />with the drainage issue on the field. Finally, he is working on trying to create an accessible path <br />from Winter Street down to Marvin Park. <br /> <br />5. Sign Policy <br />David and Matt worked on a draft of the sign policy, which was mailed with the meeting <br />minutes. Sandra has edited the draft and a copy was given out. The Recreation Committee <br />voted unanimously to accept the following language and specifications for the Sign Policy, <br />which will now go before the Board of Selectman for final approval: <br /> <br />No person shall post any sign or bulletin in a park, playground or open space of the Town <br />of Lexington without express written consent of the Recreation Department, and with the <br />approval of the Board of Selectman.
