Neumeier <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />RECREATION COMMITTEE MINUTES <br /> <br />April 21, 1999 <br /> <br /> <br />Members Present: Sandra Shaw, Pam Varrin, Don Chisholm, Rick DeAngelis, <br /> Dick Neumeier <br /> <br />Staff Present: Karen Simmons, Brian Gilbert, Jon Jalbert <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA: <br /> <br />1. The meeting minutes of March 9 and March 29, 1999 will be reviewed at the next meeting. <br /> <br />2. Little League Fees <br />The committee members feel that the Little League fees need to be re-assessed and brought back <br />in front of the Board of Selectmen. Karen will do that this summer. Dick feels that we should <br />let Little League know and invite representatives to the next Recreation committee meeting <br />before Karen goes in front of the Board of Selectmen. <br /> <br />3. Town Meeting wrap up <br />All three Recreation articles were approved by Town Meeting. The committee congratulated <br />Dick Neumeier on the work he did on Article 31. The committee feels that Karen has done a <br />great job getting people in the Town to gain a better understanding understand of Recreation. <br />Also, Brian Gilbert’s Power Point show was very effective. <br /> <br />4. Capital Articles <br />Brian does not know what the time frame will be on the Pine Meadows irrigation project. He <br />will check with Peter Chalpin in Engineering. <br /> <br />Article 30- Don has spoken with David Crump, the Harrington principal, regarding this project. <br />The Harrington Playground group wants to make sure their needs are met also. Brian has been <br />speaking with John Moynihan regarding the plans for portable classrooms at Harrington and now <br />the portables will be in the way of the original design. Brian will review the plans from John <br />Moynihan to decide what our option for locating the soccer field will be. The design presented <br />to Town meeting will not be possible so there will have to be a new design.
