Minutes of the Lexington Zoning Board of Appeals <br /> Estabrook Hall, Cary Memorial Building <br /> January 11, 2007 <br /> Board Members Present: Chairman — Arthur C. Smith, Nyles N. Barnert, Maura L. Sheehan, <br /> John J. McWeeney and Judith J. Uhrig <br /> Staff present: David George, Zoning Administrator and Dianne Cornaro, Administrative Clerk. <br /> Petition Address: 181 -201 Spring Street <br /> The relief sought is for a Special Permit from Section 135 -77 and section 135 -78 to upgrade an <br /> existing sign at the entrance to 181 -201 Spring Street. <br /> The Chairman opened the hearing at 7:45 PM by reading the legal notice and described <br /> information received from the petitioner relative to the petition. <br /> Prior to the hearing, the petition and supporting data were reviewed by the Building <br /> Commissioner, Conservation Administrator, Town Engineer, Health Director, Zoning <br /> Administrator, Planning Board and the Design Advisory Committee. Comments were received <br /> from the Planning Department, Zoning Administrator and the Design Advisory Committee. <br /> Robert Thompson from Jim Did It Signs presented the petition for the owner of the property, <br /> Theresa Delisi. He is replacing the existing sign with a new design which has a section that is <br /> six - inches taller. <br /> The board questioned the illumination of the sign. <br /> Raffi Yeghiayan of 188 Spring Street stated when the stonewall was built it was suppose to be no <br /> higher than four and a half feet but it was made higher. He is opposed to increasing the size of <br /> the sign. <br /> Glen Parker of 186 Smith Street, Jim Calvin of 180 Spring Street and Carol Yeghiayan also <br /> opposed increasing the size of the sign. <br /> No one spoke in favor of the signage. <br /> Robert Thompson said he could move the section of the sign that was to be higher down. <br /> The hearing was closed at 7:55 PM. <br /> Discussion: <br /> The Board discussed the need for lighting the sign for safety issues <br />
