Minutes of the Lexington Zoning Board of Appeals <br /> Selectmen's Meeting Room, Lexington Town Hall <br /> August 9, 2007 <br /> Board Members Present: Chairman — Arthur C. Smith, Nyles N. Barnert, Judy J. Uhrig and <br /> Associates John Gilbert and David Williams <br /> Staff present: David George, Zoning Administrator and Dianne Cornaro, Administrative Clerk. <br /> Petition Address: 1720 Massachusetts Avenue <br /> The relief sought is for a SPECIAL PERMIT in accordance with section 135 -78 of the Code of <br /> the Town of Lexington to allow 2 temporary signs to be installed to temporary construction <br /> fencing. <br /> The Chairman opened the hearing at 7:40 PM by reading the legal notice and described <br /> information received from the petitioner relative to the petition. <br /> Prior to the hearing, the petition and supporting data were reviewed by the Building <br /> Commissioner, Conservation Administrator, Town Engineer, Health Director, Board of <br /> Selectmen, Zoning Administrator, Planning Board and the Historic District Commission. <br /> Comments were received from the Zoning Administrator. <br /> Architect Erik Rhodin presented the petition for the owners of Lexington Commons, 1720 <br /> Massachusetts Avenue, LLC. Gwen Rhodin, Oak Tree Development Partner was also present. <br /> The Board asked how long the signs were expected to be up and confirmed that there were other <br /> safety signs that were going to be placed at the construction site. The project time is estimated to <br /> be about 16 months and other safety signs had previously been approved and would be in place. <br /> They expect the building will be totally down within four weeks. <br /> The petitioner has received approval for the signs from the Historic District Commission. <br /> No one spoke in favor of the petition. <br /> No one spoke in opposition. <br /> The hearing was closed at 7:50 PM. <br /> On a motion by Nyles Barnert and seconded by John Gilbert, with a vote of 5 -0, the Board <br /> approved the Special Permit to allow 2 temporary signs (as per plans submitted) to be installed to <br /> temporary construction fencing at 1720 Massachusetts Avenue and 50 Waltham Street until <br /> December 31, 2008. <br />
