<br /> 68-312 <br />Selectmen’s Meeting <br />May 11, 2015 <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on Monday, May 11, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. <br />in the Selectmen Meeting Room of the Town Office Building. Chairman Pato, Mr. Kelley, Mr. <br />Cohen, Ms. Ciccolo and Ms. Barry; and Mr. Valente, Town Manager; and Ms. Pease, Executive <br />Clerk, were present. <br /> <br />Public Comment <br /> <br />Ms. Sharone, 9 years old, requested permission from the Selectmen to use the Battle Green on <br />Saturday, May 16, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. for the start of a kid-organized walk to help end poverty. <br /> <br /> Approve Use of the Battle Green – Walk for Wages <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted 5-0 to approve the use of the Battle Green <br />on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at the beginning of a “Walk to Help End Poverty” starting at <br />approximately 3:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Ms. McKenna, Tourism Committee, provided the Board with a copy of the “Linger in Lexington, <br />Revolutionizing Tourism Report done by the Boston College Consulting Clinic, which evaluated <br />tourism’s impact on the local economy, determined what tourism’s optimal role should be in <br />Lexington and developed a measurable and actionable strategy to implement. <br /> <br />Ms. McKenna announced that Thelma Goldberg, founder of The Dance Inn in Lexington, will <br />receive the 2015 Dr. Michael Shannon Dance Champion Award from the Boston Dance Alliance <br />at the organization’s May 14 gala. <br /> <br />Selectmen Concerns and Liaison Reports <br /> <br />Mr. Kelley asked if the Post Office mail box in the Cary Memorial Building circle would be <br />returned when construction is complete. Mr. Valente will check on. <br /> <br />Ms. Barry enjoyed attending the Lexington High School Performance Arts musical “Into the <br />Woods” over the past weekend. <br /> <br />Ms. Barry reminded the Board that the Selectmen will have a booth at Discovery Day on May 23 <br />from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and asked her colleagues to let her know when they can man the <br />booth. <br /> <br />Ms. Barry requested an agenda item be added to the May 18 or June 1 agenda to debrief on the <br />2015 Annual Town Meeting. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
