Geller; <br />Burt Perlmutter; John J. Flynn; Sharon MacKenzie <br />Health Department Attendees: Gerard F. Cody, Health Director; Ann Belliveau, Health <br />Clerk/Office Manager <br /> <br />Wendy Heiger-Bernays called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The Board reviewed the minutes of April 11, 2012. Perlmutter motioned to accept the <br />minutes with corrections. MacKenzie seconded. All approved. <br /> <br />Environmental Health Report – Food Inspection Program <br /> <br />Starbucks Coffee, 1729 Mass Avenue – Daniel Brennan of dpb Consulting Services and <br />Nicholas Lawrence of Starbucks appeared before the Board of Health requesting a <br />variance to have a mechanical warewasher instead of a 3-bay sink for cleaning and <br />sanitizing food contact equipment and utensils for their proposed renovation. After a <br />discussion, Perlmutter motioned that the Lexington Board of Health grants a variance <br />from FC 4-301.112 to use a mechanical ware wash machine to Starbucks Coffee at 1729 <br />Massachusetts Avenue. MacKenzie seconded. All approved. <br /> <br />ButterGirl Baking Company, 12 Moon Hill Road (Residential Kitchen) – Laurelyn <br />Roberts, Owner of ButterGirl Baking Company had completed a food plan review with <br />the Health Division. All applicable equipment, (except for a mop sink and hand washing <br />facilities) had been installed according to code. Ms. Roberts submitted variance requests <br />to use a bathroom toilet as a mop sink and to use a kitchen sink as a hand washing sink <br />After a discussion, Perlmutter motioned that the Lexington Board of Health grants an <br />annual permit and a variance from FC 5-203.13 and FC 5-203.11 to operate a residential <br />kitchen at 12 Moon Hill Road as ButterGirl Baking Company. Geller seconded. All <br />approved. <br /> <br />New Housing Cases <br /> <br />24 Oxbow Road – Cody advised the Board that he received a call from a tenant at 24 <br />Oxbow Road who was concerned about lead paint because there are two children under <br />the age of six. Cody did a lead determination inspection and it indicated two specific <br />locations that were positive for lead. Cody notified the Childhood Lead Prevention <br />Program along with a copy of the report. A specific order to correct has been sent to the <br />landlord. <br /> <br />Avalon - 12266 Main Campus Drive – Cody informed the Board that he received a <br />complaint from a tenant who is concerned about chronic dampness at the above <br />referenced apartment. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
