Selectmen’s Meeting <br />January 9, 2012 <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held on Monday, January 9, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. <br />in the Selectmen Meeting Room, Town Office Building. Chairman Manz, Mr. Kelley, Mr. <br />Cohen, Mr. Burnell and Ms. Mauger; Mr. Valente, Town Manager and Ms. Pease, Executive <br />Clerk, were present. <br /> <br />Selectmen Concerns and Liaison Reports <br /> <br />Mr. Manz reminded everyone that Monday, January 16, is Martin Luther King Day and it is <br />celebrated in Lexington with a march and ceremony on Sunday, January 15 beginning at 1:30 <br />p.m. on the Battle Green. <br /> <br />Grant of Location – National Grid – Oak Street <br /> <br />Mr. Regan explained this request was to install 4 inch gas main in Oak Street from the existing 4 <br />inch at Massachusetts Avenue to Mohawk Drive. A street opening permit will be required prior <br />to excavation. <br /> <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted 5-0 to approve the petition for Oak Street for <br />National Grid to install and maintain approximately 850+ feet of four inch gas main in Oak <br />Street. <br /> <br />Ms. Loewenberg, 40 Oak Street, is concerned where and how the gas main would be installed <br />and whether residents would be able to hook into it. The Selectmen will put her in touch with <br />Engineering and National Grid representatives to answer her questions. <br /> <br />Flammable Storage Hearing – New License – 3 Forbes Road <br /> <br />Mr. Farrington, an Attorney representing 3 Forbes Road, requested approval of a new Flammable <br />Storage License for the new parking garage at 3 Forbes Road. Lt. Tremblay, Fire, stated that the <br />request has been reviewed and approved by the Fire Department. <br /> <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted 5-0 to approve a new Flammable Storage <br />License for HBCI, LLC as Trustee for 3 Forbes Realty Trust, for the aboveground storage, <br />operation and maintenance of 4,005 gallons of Class 1 flammable solids at 3 Forbes Road. <br /> <br />Community Center Task Force <br /> <br />Ms. Hussong, Chair of the Community Center Task Force, presented an interim report about the <br />concept of a community center, including recommendations, to serve the intellectual, physical <br />and social needs of seniors, other adults, teens and youth in Lexington. <br /> <br />
